Hayes Tooling and Plastics, Inc., a family owned company, has been located on I-35 in Olathe, KS. for (49) years, and has been a part of the Kansas City area plastic history for the past fifty-five (58) years. In 1953 Irene and Jim Hayes Sr. started Hayes Tool & Die Co., and, eventually combined the tool & die capabilities with plastic molding, forming Hayes Tooling and Plastics, Inc.

Jim Hayes Jr. / Pres., and Don Hayes / Vice Pres. have continued the family business tradition  by utilizing the capabilities of Mario Zarlengo, nephew and Plant Manager. Between the three, the company is managed with a combined industry experience totaling over 106 years. 

Under the engineering direction of Don Hayes, H T & P has a complete tool & die, mold making department made up of CNC, milling machines, surface grinders, lathes, and EDM equipment to complete each project.

HT&P’s molding capabilities consist of “thermoplastic and thermoset” injection molding utilizing machinery ranging from (6) oz to (30) oz and 55 Ton to 300 Ton capacity. The blow molding area has a range of single and dual head equipment, with capacity from ½ to 170 ounce containers. Each of the plastic processing areas is complimented by the secondary operations of machining, decorating, and assembly. 

Hayes has recently been featured in articles written about the company in the “Trade Roots” section of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, emphasizing the “Made in America” products which are being marketed to other countries.
